One Year Blogiversary!

I can't believe a whole year has gone by since I started my little blog. Where has the time gone?

It has been an incredible year for me: blogging, teaching, traveling, making new DVDs..... But the very best part for me is getting to interact with you guys. Corresponding with you, and meeting you when I travel is truly the greatest part of my job.

I thank you all from the bottom of my heart for your love and loyalty. And to show my appreciation, SugarEd is going to have a give-away to celebrate the first anniversary of our blog. YAY!!! WOOOOOO HOOOOOO! Cheeers and whistles!!!

We are going to give away a $100 shopping spree at http://www.sugaredproductions.com/

Yes, you read that right! $100!!

To be entered into the drawing, just leave a comment telling your favorite internet blog.

I look forward to what this next year holds; and I hope we continue to provide you with information you enjoy.

Happy 1st Anniversary SugarEd Lagniappe!

And the winner is...............

Bridgett B said...
Love to have a little of your used lagniappe. Please consider me for the Cake Design CD. Maybe this would help me organize all the designs in my head. lol

Congratulations Bridgett. Please email me to claim your prize.

Now I am off to pack up my stuff for our Swamp Thing Class this weekend. Next week I will post some pics of that and continue on my de-clutter mission. Who knows, I might discover some more good stuff to give away!

Have a great weekend!

A Crumby Day

CLUTTER UPDATE:

I just shook enough crumbs out of my computer keyboard to feed all the birds in Central Park for a week.

Maybe I should stop eating at my computer.

Family Photos

Hi guys!

This has nothing to do with cake, but I just wanted to share with you these proofs from our recent family photo session because I am just so thrilled with them. A client of mine introduced me to this amazing photographer's work, and I fell in love with her style. We were well overdue for photos, so we shot these at a local state park last week. I don't know how I will choose which ones to get! Maybe you can help me?

I swear I am just so lucky. I must have done something right in a previous life to be blessed with such a wonderful family. Gosh how I do love those 3 guys.

And check out Katharine's site here. She is incredible. (She also shot the Topsy Turvy DVD cover.)

Thanks for looking,
Sharon

I'm going in.....

.... and if I don't come out in a few days, send in reinforcements....

It has come to that point. That point where you can't deny it any longer. That point where you can't pretend it's not there. That point at which you can no longer function. That point at which you have to act now, or there may never be any going back.

What am I talking about?

CLUTTER!

I shudder at the mere thought of tackling what was once my house. What was once a cute 2 story dwelling with room and space. A symbol of organization and order . A place of peace and tranquility.

What the heck happened? It is now a place of chaos and mess and clutter. My cake room/office is barely functional. My foyer and dining room have become storage areas for shipping supplies and inventory. My extra room upstairs is...... is.... well.......... it's scary.

And it has come to that time. You know that time; the time you dread more than going for a root canal. It can't be put off any longer. You have to face it. You have to go in.

I am going in. Please come looking for me if I don't come back.

-------------------------------------------

In my first round of purging my office, I found an old CD copy of Wedding Cake Design Pro. It is a few years old. I do not have the original case or any papers to go with it. I found that I do not have the patience to design cakes on the computer. I just see them in my head or sketch them on paper. Therefore, I am giving this lonely little copy away to a free home. If you would like to have it, drop a comment. I will draw a name from all interested on Friday. If I am still alive. If the clutter has not won.

----------------------------------------

On another note, I have not forgotten about the ICES pics and stories. My sisters took all of the pictures, so they have to send the photos to me, and then I have to edit and organize them. Unfortunately, they have real jobs, and I do not have first priority. Can you imagine!! HUMPH!

So as soon as I get all of that together, I will put up an entry on our trip to ICES

Happy Cleaning...er... caking!

ICES Eye Candy

Hi Dudes and Dudettes!

While I am working on my blog post about our trip, feast your eyes on some of these incredible creations. These are all cakes made by attendees, in the cake display room. They come from all over the world, and the work there is just astounding! This is just a tiny sampling of what was there. Enjoy!

My absolute favorite! Not only cuz I adore junk food, but because this cake was perfectly executed. The little guy looked like a ceramic doll.

By the same artist as hamburger cake; she was from Argentina.

Wendy loved these puffy hearts.

Love the side treatments on this one and the beautiful colors.

I am so gunna steal, er....borrow, that applique and lace motif.

This was a dinner plate full of teeny tiny pastries! They were so cute! The little donuts were about the size of my thumbnail.

Incredible detail.

Love this.

Simply stunning.

I love the upside down string work. I want to learn how to do that.

Beautiful color combo and piping.

Adore it. Period.

This cake was amazing. It looked like the real game. Notice how all the words are confection related. Brilliant!

Drop dead amazing.

I will post more soon!
