I'm going in.....

.... and if I don't come out in a few days, send in reinforcements....

It has come to that point. That point where you can't deny it any longer. That point where you can't pretend it's not there. That point at which you can no longer function. That point at which you have to act now, or there may never be any going back.

What am I talking about?

CLUTTER!

I shudder at the mere thought of tackling what was once my house. What was once a cute 2 story dwelling with room and space. A symbol of organization and order . A place of peace and tranquility.

What the heck happened? It is now a place of chaos and mess and clutter. My cake room/office is barely functional. My foyer and dining room have become storage areas for shipping supplies and inventory. My extra room upstairs is...... is.... well.......... it's scary.

And it has come to that time. You know that time; the time you dread more than going for a root canal. It can't be put off any longer. You have to face it. You have to go in.

I am going in. Please come looking for me if I don't come back.

-------------------------------------------

In my first round of purging my office, I found an old CD copy of Wedding Cake Design Pro. It is a few years old. I do not have the original case or any papers to go with it. I found that I do not have the patience to design cakes on the computer. I just see them in my head or sketch them on paper. Therefore, I am giving this lonely little copy away to a free home. If you would like to have it, drop a comment. I will draw a name from all interested on Friday. If I am still alive. If the clutter has not won.

----------------------------------------

On another note, I have not forgotten about the ICES pics and stories. My sisters took all of the pictures, so they have to send the photos to me, and then I have to edit and organize them. Unfortunately, they have real jobs, and I do not have first priority. Can you imagine!! HUMPH!

So as soon as I get all of that together, I will put up an entry on our trip to ICES

Happy Cleaning...er... caking!
Sharon

Sharon - I feel your pain! I, unfortunately, was not born with the organization gene. My attic was to the point that you couldn't even walk in there, my office/comupter/craft room was completely useless space and I just kept the door closed all the time. I finally could take it NO LONGER and I actually HIRED a professional organizer to come in and revamp my whole house.

It has taken HOURS and HOURS (ok, get real - days and days!) of work to get these 2 spaces done. We have moved on now to my cake closet and next its the kitchen, Kenzie's room, and then the DREADED master bedroom!!

GOOD LUCK... I sincerely feel your pain! may the force be with you - I will send in a search party if you haven't posted by this time next week! haha!!

my word verification for this post is 'mothpu' - so, I feel I must warn you to look out for moth poop while cleaning out your clutter! HAHAHAHA!

I know exactly how you feel, I just moved from a 1000 sq home because we did not fit anymore, there is 5 of us, and know I am in a 2000 sq home and I have no clue how I filled up this home. I have no clue were all this stuff came from or where I had it hidden in my old home. Its' good to get in there and get a good cleaning once in a while.

I would love to get the Dvd now that I have room for it.

Sharon, I can always count on you for a laugh! I think I'm in the same boat as you. It is not easy living in a tiny apartment with a 2 year old who likes to drag his toys from one end of the place to the other and a 3 year old who's room rivals any hospital's with the amount of medical equipment and supplies, and visually stimulating "stuff" It's like a daycare center and a hospital room merged! Have fun! I personally think a bulldozer is in order at my house!

Add me to the list of people who would love the DVD. I have made a few wedding cakes, and could certainly use the help it would give me for designing. Thanks!!

I'm so OCD about cleanliness/neatness/controlled chaotic order. I have to have every room in the house meet a certain level of 'clean' before i can sit down and focus on a cake order. it's so paranoia LOL

I would KILL for a copy of Wedding Design Pro. Throw my name in twice, will ya :-D

I hear ya about the cleaning. I dread that one chore, but give in when I can't find the floor anymore. I would like to have the dvd as well, so would like my name in the hat please. My 3 year old will love to use the program and design some cakes with mommy.

Good luck with your endeavor...you will see the end though it may be a while. Take it one room at a time and do take breaks for food and coke to keep your sanity. I still want to see your genius cake designs.

Clutter is my nemesis. You can get the house cleaned up and within days the clutter is back.
I have actually been considering purchasing that program, so I would love to have my name thrown into the hat for it.
Good luck with the cleaning and organizing. I feel for you.

I am in dire need of decluttering and organizing. I'm not a very organized person so even if I get it organized it unfortunately does not stay that way very long.

I would love to have that dvd. I have wanted it for a while and just never been able to get it.

Thank you.

Sharon,
Wow that sounds like such a great prize. I always have such a hard time designing cakes. I draw picture after picture and spend hours trying to make the design or the cake. That would save me so much time.
I know what you mean about clutter. I am in the same battle right now. I hope you are successful.

Sharon, we all have rooms like that, just did the same thing this past weekend to my office, it was very scary, but so glad I did, found some stuff that I really could use, ha! Good luck, we'll send in the troops if you haven't responded in a couple of days!!!

I'd love to have a copy of the DVD, so please throw my name into the hat as well.

Can't wait to see the pictures from the ICES convention, boy those real jobs really get in the way of progress don't they!LOL!

Thanks so much.

I'd like you to add my name to the drawing also.
Your situation reminds me of a favorite story from my childhood. ("Cowboy and Indian" stories were my favorite). After working so hard to clean the teepee, the father came home from a hunting trip and informed his wife that she wasn't doing it the "Indian way". In a sense, she was putting on airs. He promptly pulled up the stakes, loaded up the travois and they moved to a new site!
Looking at it from today's perspective-60 years later- if sounds very politically incorrect, but as a child with onerous housework chores to do, I wished my mother had had that philosophy!
Good luck with the endeavor!

Oooops! I just read the computer requirements for the C D. Unfortunately there are some drawbacks to having a Mac...(with which I am still having issues, but that's another story---). So, in the event my name is drawn, I suppose you'd better draw again. Thanks for the opportunity and I do enjoy your blog. In fact, I enjoy everything you put your name to. Good quality, terrific humor and a good vicarious friendship! Thanks!

By the way are you using a mask (buy at hardware store- the cheap ones that cover your nose & mouth) when you airbrush yet? If not I swear it helps 100%. No more colored you know what for a week. I've seen your posts from CC but this is the first time seeing your fabulous blogspot! :)

I would love to win the DVD. I am not that great at drawing and would make consultations so much easier. It keeps being put on the back burner. Seems it is one thing after another and now hubby has been laid off for 45 days and could be 45 more so it takes a back seat yet again.

We recently had family visit which is a wonderful thing and lots of 'stuff' got done around the house but... things and projects that got shoved into our spare room too so now I have to fight to get to my cake stuff. It's time at our house too!

The DVD would be an interesting to play with. Thanks for doing a giveaway!
